Syazrul Idrus Creates History with Seven-Wicket Haul in T20I.

Syazrul Idrus created history on Wednesday when he became the first bowler to take seven wickets in a T20I match. Idrus’s incredible feat came against China in the opening game of the T20 World Cup Asia B Qualifier in Kuala Lumpur.

Idrus, who bowls right-arm fast-medium, took his seven wickets for just eight runs in four overs. He dismissed China’s openers, Wang Liuyang and Zhang Yi, in his first over, and then went on to pick up the wickets of Li Zhuo, Jiang Sheng, Zhang Hao, Zhang Xiao, and Sun Junjie.

All of Idrus’s wickets were bowled, as he consistently swung the ball into the batters. He also bowled a number of dot balls, which helped to restrict China to just 85 runs in their 20 overs.

In reply, Malaysia cruised to victory in just 10.4 overs, with opener Ahmad Faiz sealed the victory with a six. Idrus’s seven-wicket haul is the best bowling figures in any T20I match, and it broke the previous record of six wickets for five runs, which was held by Nigeria’s Peter Aho.

The 32-year-old Idrus has been playing international cricket for Malaysia since 2014, and he has taken 53 wickets in 22 T20Is. He is a regular member of the Malaysia team, and he is known for his ability to swing the ball both ways.
